As a student, the use of paper is inevitable. When there is a quiz, you need a pad paper. When there is an exam, you need it. When there is a research paper, you need it.
Recycling may have already been thought to students even as early as the pre-school level. However, the real motivation behind it may not have been internalized. With that, students would usually do their task for the sake of having an output and having a grade. Repeated numerous number of times, recycling is mainly for Mother Earth, but the essence of this words are not in fact taken into consideration seriously except for a few.
Consider this fact and this will surely move you: It is estimated that around one third of wastes in the landfill are paper and paper products. A great percentage of these papers being dump can still be used for other purposes or recycled. You may be shock to note this but have you ever passed a day without using a sheet of paper as a student. If you did, you may not be that serious in your studies unless of course, your "yes" refers to some holidays celebrated during the school year.
Recycling is not difficult but it may take some of your time. Some simple ways of course can make you contribute to saving the earth while you may have not intended it. One is using a not very shiny or refined paper. You may find papers in the bookstore that do not look good physically because these are recycled paper.
Utilizing the surface of a sheet will also help. Instead of luxuriously using only one page of your notebook and leaving the back portion empty, you may as well use the back portion too. One way to reuse is using the other side of sheets that contains some data that you do not need anymore. This is perfect for your printing needs when you are researching on something and you are at the first stage of collecting some data. You can utilize some old letters, old bills or whatever paper you have that you are planning to dump but it still has the flip side empty.
You can create art and many stuff through those used papers. There are infinite options to take like mâché, collage, figurine and other kinds of decorations or accessories. You can also shred them and put as fillers in throw pillows or you can make it as litter box filling and lining for rodent pet cages.
